Claire Bele Sato, a realty specialist at Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific, was born into a military family to a Czech father and a Filipino mother at Tripler Hospital in Hawaii. “I am proud of both ethnicities and cultural heritages, but I am more familiar and tend to identify myself more with the Filipino Culture,” said Sato. She joined a Philippine dance group, where she learned several traditional Philippine dances and would perform for the community, including the courtyard at the Hale Koa Hotel during the holidays.
