It was established on October 3, 1941. The parish has been in the pastoral care and administration of the Society of the Divine Word since even before its founding. The current Parish Priest is the Very Reverend Father Jerome Marquez, SVD, who also serves as the Vice-Provincial of the Philippine Central Province of the Society of the Divine Word. His assistant priests are Father Benigno Beltran, SVD, and Father Lino Nicasio, SVD. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish parish center is located at the intersection of Scout Ybardolaza Street, Scout Fuentebella Street and Scout Fernandez Street. The parish is part of the Diocese of Cubao.[3] The parish belongs to the[4] Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao (Latin: Dioecesis Cubaoensis) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. Theodore Buttenbruch, SVD came to Manila in 1940. He founded the Sacred Heart Parish in Kamuning on October 3, 1941, On June 1, 1941, Archbishop Michael O.Doherty of Manila, laid the corner stone for a small church (Buttenbruch by Fr. Peter Michael, SVD).
