The Jesus Church

How time flies, it is now 2024, 52 years flew by just like that. Today marks the 53rd anniversary of our church in baguio, today we reminisce, today we celebrate.

Let us all transport ourselves back to when all the church work started, and in remembrance, appreciate our roots. Appreciate why we will always be grateful to this britain who started the church work and keep it going to this day; and in doing so, may all the church congres may all the church congregation law of our history as we walk down memory lane.

In the 1960s, a prophet of the Lord, "David Terrell" spoke to the Lew Ellis Charles Ambler during a camp meeting he attended. Lew Ambler was prophesied to and given instruction at the same time. He was commissioned the go a place called the Philippine island.

Our world we call earth is big. Imagine the love when god zoned in on the philippines, small spec of a dot in a world map. That was when the work of god in the philippines started. It was most than immediately, however, fast forward a few years later, prior to 1970, Lew Ambler here to the philippines to establish a business that will sustain and fund the future charge where he was tasked to do by God.

Then in 1970, he wants again flew back to the philippines to finally start his mission, he check in at the den pilipinas while fasting and praying, God spoke to him to go to the town of banaue, the lord instructed him that the first person who greets him with "praise the Lord" is the person he will be dealing with moving forward. Now it is noteworthy to understand that at that time, "praise the Lord" was not permanently used and was not a common greeting that christian use at that time.

Lew Ambler hence got up and made his way to the mountains of ifugao, and in there upon arriving, Lo behold, was created by a jolly man with this white toothed grin and smiling face with a simple phrase, "praise the Lord" that was how you ambler first came to meet donato limangan who soon, would also become the first pastor of the j Jesus church baguio.

With a group of 8 people, Lew Ambler started a small wood carving export business from banaue, the curved wood would be brought to baguio to be sandpapered and furnished to a wonderful gloss, before wrapped in newspaper and pack in boxes to be cracked down to manila for shipping to hawaii. he would travel the bumpy roads 2 to 3 days each week two and from manila then back to baguio for church services.

In 1970, a group of about 40 people started church worship three times a week. Part of his initial mission work was the teacher repentance and baptism in Jesus name tongues. The value and importance of the cross on calvary, victory over death, resurrection, ascension into heaven and a promise to be back for his elect.

On the first year of the mission work, there were about 50 people who were baptized in Jesus name and and on the night of november 26, 1971, 31 sisters who were filled with the holy coast on the year 1971-1973.
