Sa 2013 eleksyon presidensyal election, si Ruto naelehir na Deputy Presidente kasabay an Presidenteng Uhuru Kenyatta sa irarom kan tiket kan Jubilee Alliance. Si Ruto Myembro nin Parlamento (MP) poon 1998 abot 2013. Siya man nagsirbeng Minister for Home Affairs sa irarom kan administrasyon ni Daniel Arap Moi poon Agosto sundo Desyembre 2002. Dangan ngapit siya nagsirbe komo Ministro nin Agrikultura sa irarom kan administrasyon ni Mwai Kibaki poon 2008 abot 2010 asin man bilang Minister for Higher Education poon Abril abot Oktobre 2010. Siya naelehir presidente nin Kenya sa 2022 eleksyon presidensyal.
